Local Teens Crucify Pastor
On April 1, 2007, two local teenagers plan to crucify their pastor—and that's no joke. Wes Yarnall of Superior and Jarod Ross of Superior will be dressed as Roman soldiers and will crucify Pastor Ken Claflin who will be playing the role of Jesus Christ in an Easter Drama at Superior Assembly of God, 502 2nd Ave E, Superior, Montana, on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1, at 7 PM.
Five young people and over twenty adults will be donning first century costumes and performing the Easter Drama written and directed by Superior resident Mike Neal. Mr. Neal has included in his script Jesus' baptism and some of his miracles in addition to the traditional death and resurrection story. "The script shows the love and compassion that Jesus had for people," says the Reverend Ken Claflin. According to Claflin, this is a new script with new material added to the one done a couple of years ago by the church.
Music accompanies the drama in the form of background music, congregational singing, the cast singing and a solo. Parts of the script also include interaction with the audience. The presentation/production should last about 45 minutes.
The Easter Drama will be shown on Saturday, March 31 and on Sunday, April 1, at 7 PM each night. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
